BONJOUR GAULTIER

Ok, we’ll be the first to admit that we’ve had some fashion missteps in our past (HERS wore neon pink spandex biking shorts when she was 5, HIS was obsessed with loose-fitting sweatshirts in grade school)

 …

 Wait, those outfits were actually TOTALLY AMAZING.

 But walking through the SF Gaultier exhibit this last Friday started to take us down fashion memory lane … !

You’ve heard the phrase “seeing the world through rose colored glasses” … well this is our version: “seeing the world through stripe colored hoods!  Whichever way you turn”. The world is far to un-striped and sad without the use of this hood, this way, you look left, STRIPES.  You look right, STRIPES.  Sure, you may be walking into traffic, but it is so worth it  :)

We wear something like this on Thursday’s. Except ours is designed to pick up sound waves and information on the best local happy hours.

Uh oh … somebody snapped a pic of us during the peak of our Avril Lavigne super fan phase … thought all of these were burned!!

A pic of HERS leaving Le Bain in NY at 4 am!  Notice how we have supplied her with hand crutches to help guide her down the stairs, as well as fend off pesky suitors ;)

Here we are looking a little weathered after HER last visit to see HIS in NY.  Notice she is channeling goal-weight (ribs showing, but still in heels) and HIS is overall torn apart and barely able to stand.

WIBW Family Reunion 2012

Well, we don’t want to get emotional, but this is the dress that HERS was wearing the day that HIS proposed to her … to start our blog.

One part wedding dress, one part Sacajawea, ALL PARTS FAB  ;)

MINT CONDITION

Um, excuse you me … you need a mint.

And so do we!  Not for our breath of course (although our skim soy extra hot caramel lattes with a half bottle of 5 hour energy in a venti cup DOES warrant a shot of mouthwash afterwards), for our OUTFITS!  This “it” color-of-the-season is popping up in all kinds of delicious iterations, including denim, blazers, nail polish, EVERYTHING.  And best of all, it creates a soft glow that accentuates any tan (or lack there of) making it the perfect color for all skin tones.  Plus, we’ll never lose each other on the streets.  Or at a Barney’s sale. 

Thanks for the heads up Gaga, you totally called this one … but that doesn’t mean we’re going to pour a box of cheerios on our face.

OUT ABROWN TOWN

And when we say “out around town”, we mean “off we went to the hottest local brunch scene, and bought an orchid”, but you get the picture.  Our day also called for heavy lunging and stretching (towards all the amazing new Summer product that exploded onto Soho), which helped us work off the top of a muffin that we shared  ;)

And although the sun is always shining when HERS is in town visiting, we opted to mash up these “should-be-saved-for-Fall” browns with our standard whites, instead of Summer colors; to feel prepared for the flighty nature of the Spring weather in New York. 

Don’t worry, underneath these outfits we can assure you we are wearing the sunniest + brightest delicates you can imagine.  To match our moods ;)

Orange-A-Peel

We have fully embraced Tangerine Tango as the Pantone color of 2012! And how could we not? This “it” color has caused an amazing range of orange shades to be splashed throughout our favorite Jersey Shore house, stores, magazines and mimosas! When we finally shed our own orange peels we discovered: a bottle of Veueve Cliquot! Which we drank (duh!)….and then used the labels to make this orange bandeau and pair of pants :)

But really, we love how a splash of orange adds the perfect touch of trend right appeal to our ensembles.
